Kids' Birthday Party: 4 Ideas for a Cool Celebration

Surely, every parent sometimes gets the desire to organize a cool birthday party for their child on their own. To some, this idea might seem too complicated and demanding of too much effort. We are in a hurry to convince you otherwise: a kids’ birthday party at home is very simple. Especially for you, we have written four ideas that will make organizing the celebration much easier.

Theme Party

A well-chosen birthday theme can turn any event into a loud, fun celebration. By setting a theme, you are offering kids a game with its own rules. Give the children a direction, and they will gladly go looking for pirate treasures, save the universe, or conduct scientific research. In addition, a theme party will significantly ease both the preliminary preparation and the actual hosting of the birthday, and it will keep the kids engaged for a long time.

Parties based on sports games, superheroes, and robots are great for boys. Girls also don’t mind trying on Wonder Woman’s cape, but as a rule, they prefer fantasy plots, solving puzzles, and treasure hunts. If you draw a map of the apartment with hidden treasures, you can be sure that the girls will forget about your existence for a long time.

The decor for a theme party can be bought or rented, but the best option is to make it yourself using cardboard, paints, and old clothes. Spend a little time printing out templates for masks to be cut out. Arm the kids with scissors and watercolors, and let their imagination (under your careful supervision, of course) finish the rest.

Karaoke Playlist

Two important things that parents sometimes forget are to make a list of songs the kids will sing in karaoke in advance and to write down the order of guest performances. The result of this omission can be arguments about who sings what and after whom. When faced with a karaoke catalog, kids get lost, not knowing which song to choose out of tens of thousands of tracks. Especially when it comes to the youngest ones, who can barely read and often choose something at random. It is advisable to find out in advance what the guests like and add the songs to the favorites list.

The same should be done with the performance order by pre-creating a queue on the karaoke system or at least adding songs to “Favorites.” Appoint one of the guests or the birthday child as the host of the evening and ask them to read out the names of the singers in turn. Don’t forget to applaud the little stars after each song.

Fully Online

Modern technologies and video calls are designed not only to kill time but also to bring loved ones together. Set up a video stream on YouTube or Instagram so that relatives and friends who are far away can virtually attend the party and have the opportunity to congratulate the birthday child.

Involve everyone in the celebration by inviting online viewers to request songs for the guests or score the performances. If anyone is willing, they can also participate remotely in a singing tournament.

By turning on the recording on your karaoke system, you can easily make an excellent video clip out of it and the broadcast highlights. It will take a few minutes, but the clip will bring joy to you and your loved ones for a very long time.

Contests

What is a kid’s party without contests and quizzes? Here are some games that will thrill your children:

Musical Chairs

Chairs are placed in a circle in the center of the room. The participants, numbering one more than the chairs, run around them while a well-known song is sung in karaoke.

Real Star

Participants engage in a desperate karaoke battle to see who can best impersonate a popular star.

Broken Karaoke Microphone

Players split into two teams and take turns guessing twisted lyrics from songs.

Karaoke Roulette

Blindly pick a participant and randomly call out a song number from the karaoke catalog that they will have to sing.

Guests must blindly guess which participant is singing.
