A karaoke party at the prom, wedding anniversary at the restaurant or celebration at your dacha: here come 7 great ideas on how to make a really rocking event out of any off-premise celebration.
Assemble an improvised stage from available materials. Any area, lifted or even just separated from the rest of the room will do. Take the Christmas lights out of the box and decorate the stage. Direct the light the desk lamps on it to create an effect of the show spotlights. If you’re at your dacha or the backyard of your cottage, place the burning candles around the stage. In the evening, the effect will be terrific.
Karaoke quizzes are great for filling in the pauses between the performances and entertaining the guests. Feel free to use the quiz questions we prepared for you or come up with ones of your own. They might include fun facts about musicians or your memories, associated with a certain track. For instance, if a karaoke party is thrown to mark the wedding anniversary, why wouldn’t you ask your guests, what is the song to which they danced together for the first time?
Battles and duets
Initiating singing in a duet or starting a battle is the best way to engage your friends into singing karaoke. This will quickly pry open even the most humble and shy guests and will add excitement to the party.
Kids’ talent show
Don’t forget about your little visitors. For them not to get bored, give them the stage for some time, and transform it into the children’s talent show. Let children sing their favorite songs, while the adults will try the judges’ job. Be committed when organizing the contest: you need stage costumes, scorecards, and loud applause both before and after the performance.
How about the adults? They may be willing to impersonate their favorite singers. When the party is almost over, organize an after-party with a “guest star” – it could be you or one of your guests. Design the outfit yourself or lease it elsewhere, use additional attributes such as a guitar or wig. Ask several people to be your back-up dancers or backing vocals. The show will be spectacular!
Pump up your party by using a theme of the night. It can be a 1980s-styled party, the one devoted to Thanksgiving, winning of your national team, or the first month of the summer. Ask your guests in advance to dress up accordingly and decorate the room where the party is going to take place. Prepare a playlist with the thematic compositions not to waste your time on that when the party is at full swing or pick one from the ready-made lists of selected songs, compiled by the Studio Evolution music editors.
Don’t forget about the prizes: even the most modest gifts to the participants of the karaoke party will long be remembered. Think about inexpensive souvenirs, winner’s certificates in different nominations, sweets or pastries, shaped as medals or cups. No matter what presents you opt for, keep it in mind that the grand prize is a good humor – and every guest should be generously awarded with it.
