The Studio Evolution karaoke catalog is our company’s pride. Over 20+ years of operation, its song collection has reached 100,000 tracks and continues to expand several times a week. It is undeniably one of the most comprehensive and complete karaoke databases in the world. Achieving this would have been impossible without professional music editors closely monitoring trends and active feedback from karaoke system users. It is our users who help us add beloved and highly requested songs to the library. We want to share how this catalog is built and what makes our backing tracks a truly unmatched experience for karaoke lovers.
Since early 2003, when Studio Evolution was founded, much has changed in the karaoke industry, and we take pride in knowing that many of these changes stem from our ideas and innovations. Creating comfortable environments for guests and sound engineers in karaoke clubs would have been impossible without the synchronized playback of original music videos during performances, custom background options, dedicated displays for patrons and venue staff, live recording, blacklisting features, and many other milestones first introduced on professional Studio Evolution systems that have now become industry standards.
Backing tracks are no exception.
Early karaoke tracks were, to put it mildly, low in quality, often consisting of cheap synthesizer approximations of the original song. Meanwhile, the karaoke market was transforming radically: casual karaoke bars were giving way to upscale, high-end venues with rigorous expectations for backing audio. Studio Evolution rose to the challenge, delivering a fundamentally new caliber of tracks.
Songs were now recorded in professional studios by accomplished musicians, making them virtually indistinguishable from the original album releases. Every single instrument involved in the session could be heard with crystal clarity. This offered singers a whole new standard of karaoke experience. The next logical step was working directly with copyright owners to license original master backing tracks. When you sing a Freddie Mercury or Britney Spears track, you can rest assured it is the exact instrumental featured on the artist’s studio album.
Many of the earliest tracks recorded for the catalog in 2003–2004 have become musically and technologically outdated. Times change, and Studio Evolution regularly remasters and updates these tracks, replacing them with modern arrangements and contemporary audio production.
The comprehensive transition from MIDI files to studio-grade backing tracks breathes new life into countless classic songs. We believe preserving and enriching musical heritage is essential, even if some of these songs aren’t topping today’s karaoke playback charts.
The Studio Evolution karaoke catalog is more than just top-quality backing tracks.
It is an intuitive, user-friendly interface that streamlines song and artist search, playback, vocal recording, and saving favorite tracks to a personal list. As a technology company, we consider the user experience with our catalog vital to setting the singer’s mood. If someone struggles to navigate an immense catalog, can’t locate a song by a chorus lyric, or can’t find an artist by the first letters of their name, how can they truly enjoy themselves? To eliminate these pain points, we created a proprietary search algorithm designed to find anything. Even if a user recalls just a single line of lyrics, our smart engine will locate the song within a library of over 100,000 tracks.
We also strive to help users not just find specific songs, but curate the right playlist for any memorable occasion or party. Curated collections from Studio Evolution editors span every imaginable theme: birthdays, bachelorette parties, anniversaries, love ballads, 90s hits, and more. Parents won’t need to scribble down song ideas on a notepad for a kids’ party — our themed selections cover every crowd favorite, ensuring with 99% certainty that children (and even their grandmothers?) will love the playlist.
For maximum enjoyment and karaoke comfort, we developed the EvoClub smartphone app, granting full access to the complete song library alongside seamless integration for Evolution Pro2 setups in karaoke clubs. Whether choosing songs at home or in a cab on the way to the venue, guests can adjust pitch and tempo settings, save favorites, and send requests directly to the club’s sound engineer straight from their phone.
We believe karaoke brings people the most genuine, uplifting emotions. The least we can do is make karaoke a celebration accessible to everyone, regardless of gender, age, or budget. Karaoke is fun, and Studio Evolution karaoke is extraordinary.
